Bocagrande is a neighborhood in the city of Cartagena de Indias in Bolívar, Colombia. It was designed with first-world standards, including gated residential areas and a separate wastewater treatment plant. Bocagrande is known in Cartagena for having many of the city’s most important hotels. It is one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the country, and the most exclusive area in the region. It is a wealthy district located between Avenida Santander and Carrera Primera. The neighborhood is close to the Ciudad Amurallada (Walled City), the most popular tourist attraction in Cartagena, which features an old town, a Hard Rock Cafe, and numerous museums and theaters. Bocagrande includes many popular hotels, supermarkets, shops, and cafes.
